Do I need to use QuickBooks Online to sign up for Kekionga Bookkeeping Services?

For our monthly bookkeeping clients, we require clients to have an active QBO subscription. Since we operate largely virtually, we need the flexibility to have remote access to your books to correct any issues or perform our regular bookkeeping services. If you don't currently have QBO or QB Desktop, we can assist you in signing up and setting up the initial books to set you on a path to having all of your accounting in one place. 

What if I already have QBO or QB Desktop?

If you already have QBO, great! That makes the onboarding process that much easier. In just a few guided steps, we can connect our QBO to yours and be on our way to handling your day to day bookkeeping. If you have QB Desktop, we will assist you in migrating to QBO. We can help from the sign up process, to the setting up process, all the way to the migration process and training you and your employees on the new system.

Why do I need to migrate/use QBO?

There are a couple of reasons. First, since we operate remotely, we need to be able to log into your books at any point in order to perform daily bookkeeping tasks, but also to correct any issues. That is not to say that we won't come onsite, but onsite visits could incur an additional charge and isn't efficient for your business or ours. Second, QBO is an efficient, all-in-one solution to your accounting needs with an easy to use interface. While you may be adapted to the inner workings of QB Desktop, or are comfortable doing accounting the way you've always done it, once you are trained on QBO, we think you'll find it to be more efficient and adaptable to your business. Being on QBO makes it easier on you to track your business finances and easier on us to help you make sure everything is accurate and up to date. 

Do you work with all businesses?

In general, we serve small, service-based businesses. If you have a dedicated department for A/P, A/R, or Payroll/HR, we may not be the best fit. Will you provide onsite bookkeeping services?

While we are able to come onsite to correct an issue or to help clean up your books, for our monthly bookkeeping clients, we do not come onsite regularly to perform bookkeeping tasks. If you use QB Desktop and just want to utilize our services to correct an issue or cleanup your books, we will come onsite to do that. By and large, our services are done remotely and onsite visits may incur an additional charge. 

What are your bookkeeping rates? Do you charge by the hour?

Our rates vary from one-time book cleanup services to our monthly bookkeeping clients. Each business is different with unique parameters and operations. As such, we welcome the opportunity to sit down and learn more about your business and bookkeeping needs. With monthly rates starting at $500 per month, we are confident we can tailor our rates to your unique bookkeeping needs and still save you the cost of hiring a dedicated employee to handle your accounting.

We charge our monthly bookkeeping clients a flat fee every month. This helps you to budget for your bookkeeping costs and allows us to be relieved of having to track our hours spent on bookkeeping for each client. We do, however, charge a per hour rate for services such as books cleanup, QBO training and migration, and stand alone services. Monthly fees and hourly rates will be agreed upon after the initial consultation meeting.

Are you an accountant/CPA?

We are not a licensed CPAs or accountants. Our role as bookkeeper is to be between you and your accountant and to help you keep your books clean and orderly in order to hand over to your CPA at tax time. We are not qualified to and will not offer financial advice, either on tax related matters or the financial health of your business. Our goal is to take the conversations between you and your accountant/CPA and turn them into action with your daily bookkeeping practices.
